Newsletter - 5th December 2014

Newsletter - 5th December 2014Friday, 05th December 2014

Dear Parents and Carers,

This term I have absolutely loved being at St Josephs and it has flown by.  We have a special school and it’s not hard to see why. I have been overwhelmed by the positive welcome from you all.  Your trust in the school, your kind words, your honesty and your generosity. It feels like I have gained another (rather large!) family. We have two weeks to go before the end of term let us continue to work together to make this the best school for our children.

Advent

Over the next few weeks there will be much excitement in school but we must always ask the children to remember the true meaning of Advent so we can really celebrate Christmas as the birth of Christ.  The excitement of buying presents and eating lots will come and go but the love of God is ever present.

Dates

As we speed along to Christmas I thought I’d give you a list of important dates and times on the back on this newsletter.

Christmas Fair

Thank you to everyone who has helped make our Christmas Fair a success.  The money from the Fair always goes to support both schools so we can fund future projects. Thank you for your generosity, your kindness and community spirit!

Writing Competition

Get writing children! The School Council are running a writing competition and want you to be part of it.  This has to be 100 words long and is due in on Thursday 11th December! Quick or you’ll miss it!

Non Uniform day

Please note the children can wear their own clothes on Thursday 18th of December

Holidays

We break up on Friday 19th December at 1pm.

We return to school on Tuesday 6th January 8.45am for the Junior and 8.55am for the Infants.

Does anyone want to start a PTA/Friends of St Joseph’s

I have had a couple of people say it would be good to have a PTA.  If you are interested in contributing to school life in this way would you let the school office know by the end of next week? It would be wonderful to have something like this to add another dimension to the school.

Reflection

I read this the other day – how true it is.

The Lord says ‘I can never forget you! I have written your name on the palms of my hands.’

Isaiah 49:16
