MacMillan Coffee Morning 
Thank you for the wonderful cakes you have contributed to make the coffee morning and cake sale such a success. The children really enjoy these days and we support a worthy cause. Once again thanks to everyone!
The Royal Observatory
Year 5 had a very wet but exciting day at the Royal Observatory Greenwich. This links in with the work they are doing in Science. They watched an Earth Space show in the Planetarium and a specific workshop on the Earth, Moon and Sun.
Reception places
We still have a few places available for Reception children (Red and Rainbow) if you know anyone that would like to come to our school please ask them to come to the school office for an application form.
Private Fostering
Do you know of anyone in a ‘private fostering’ arrangement. That is where someone is looking after a child for longer than 28 days and they have an arrangement with the parents of that child to do so? We would like to be able to offer support to those parents/carers where possible so that each child makes as much progress as possible whilst not with its immediate family. Thank you so much.
Year of Mercy
The Pope has proclaimed 2016 as The Year of Mercy. It will run from December 8th 2015 the Feast of The Immaculate Conception to 20th November 2016 the Feast of Christ the King. The motto for the year is ‘Merciful Like the Father’ and serves as an invitation to follow the merciful example of the Father who asks us not to judge or condemn but to forgive and to give love and forgiveness without measure. Let us hope our school community can follow this example. Let us be ready!
Uniform, Behaviour and Punctuality
We are relentless in our quest for high standards of behaviour. The children understand in school the expectation is they will behave ‘impeccably’ in class, lining up in the playground, around the building and in our local environment – that is what we need for an outstanding Ofsted judgement. Could you please endorse this at home so we are giving the same message and the children do not only hear it at school but also at home? We are monitoring lateness to school. I know the traffic is unpredictable but please try to be on time. Please make sure your children’s uniform is labelled or named. We have a lot of unclaimed sweatshirts and PE kit already.
