 Heatwave alert

The London Borough of Southwark has issued a Heatwave alert for the weekend and Monday.  As the warmer weather draws in, can I remind you that we need to be very careful that the children do not overheat. Could you please make sure they are provided with a bottle of water, a sun hat and that you administer sun screen. Some children can have up to 4 layers on – (vest, t-shirt, polo shirt and sweatshirt) please make sure they are not too over dressed for the heat.

First Holy Communion

This is a very special time for our Year 3 children will be making their First Holy Communion on Saturday 24th June and Saturday 1st July. All of their photos are in Sacred Heart Church and I am sure you will hold them all in your thoughts and prayers. We pray for the strength of constant and life-long faith that will protect and guide them through their future years.

Helping the School

Some parents/carers have asked how they can contribute to the school in view of the funding cuts. We appreciate that family life is very costly and there will be things that we are no longer able to afford as a school.  If anyone does wish to contribute financially you can always do so via the school office – See Mr Gibb.  If you would like to give of your time then please contact the school office.  We always need people to listen to children read but as you can appreciate this needs to be consistent and regular and you will be subject to DBS clearance. Another way in which you can contribute is to buy books for our Reading Spine. The office will have a list of suggested books.

Reports

End of Year Reports will be sent out on Thursday 13th July. After you have received the report if you would like to see your child’s teacher to discuss please make an appointment with them.
